Your wedding day is special and unique – you are the most important people but you also want all of your guests to have an enjoyable and memorable time. A magician, providing close-up magic to entertain the guests at various points, can ensure everyone has a magical time and magical memories!
I have over 35 years experience in providing entertainment in this way, and specialise in weddings. I will ensure my magic and performance will meet all your requirements and wishes.
So, what is close-up magic?
Close-up magic is an all-involving, intimate piece of theatre, designed to be fun, mystifying and memorable, but above all, entertaining. It is magic performed to small groups of people by a magician who carries all he requires on his person, providing an unusual mobile entertainment service. Because the performer is working to small groups, he is able to totally involve the onlookers in a way that virtually no other form of entertainment can. Many people marvel at seeing magic happen ‘right before their eyes’ and it is a source of enormous fascination and amusement. Many clients have told me that there guests are still talking about the magic weeks after the event!
How can it help at your wedding?
Close-up magic is a great ice-breaker. If guests don’t know each other, or don’t know each other well, my magic is uniquely tailored to bring people together to create an enjoyable and relaxed atmosphere.
There are several opportunities when a magician can provide entertainment to guests. For example:
• During the wedding party photographs
• During the time period before sitting down to the wedding breakfast
• During dinner, at the tables.
• To entertain the children, who may get fidgety or bored during the speeches!
• Between the wedding breakfast finishing and the evening guests arriving.
• To entertain the evening guests before any buffet and disco commences.

Close-up or table magic is extremely versatile. It can be used at dinners, wedding receptions, private parties and corporate functions providing an ideal icebreaker. It works well in restaurants, hotels and public houses - anywhere, in fact, where people gather together, either formally or informally. It is suitable for a group of virtually any size. It requires no special staging, lighting or venue. It is perfect as a creator of atmosphere and an ideal adjunct to music, dancing or eating.

Cabaret
Cabaret magic is a fun, entertaining floor show that can be between 20 minutes and one hour. Ideal for audiences numbering from 20 to 200 plus. The cabaret style environment makes it ideal for involving the audience and a few will even get to take part! I guarantee a good time for all!
Stage
Whether a large theatre holding a thousand-plus or smaller stage, the magic act can be adapted to suit any situation. Audience participation is a key part and makes for memorable theatre. Any type of stage show such as variety shows and old time music hall are an ideal vehicle for this entertaining and memorable act.
PROMOTION... ATTRACTION... IMAGE CREATION...
Close-up and cabaret style magic can help your business with all three!
Promotion
The theme of magic lends itself to all manner of potential promotional avenues, right from a simple play on words, such as, "Company X is magic!", to more complex integrated programmes. The appearance of a magician on your stand holds the magic theme and imagery together and allows the idea to be expanded upon. The magic performed by the entertainer can use your company name, logo or material thus linking the sales message with the magic itself.
Attraction
Your sales staff have a better chance to move in on potential customers when those customers are near your stand. A live, close-up magic performance not only attracts the customers to your stand in particular, but also holds them there for a few minutes. Those few minutes may be the difference between you making a contact or not.
Image Creation
Many trade show stands can be uninspiring to all except those interested in the product. Using a magician as an attraction creates a lighter, more interesting image for your company. It makes you different from all the others offering similar products and above all, it makes your company memorable.
Restaurants
Magic performed at the table of diners either during courses or at the end of the meal. Moving from table to table, the entertainer provides a memorable supplement to the meal without detracting from the quality of the meal itself or its service and will enhance the reputation of the restaurant.
Hotels
Close-up magic in the restaurant for regular diners, or as a feature at a special event, can be used as a "mix 'n' mingle" or 'walk-round' feature whilst clients gather for a function etc. Having a resident magician encourages customers to return and bring others!
Compere
Whether your requirements are merely for a host that can help your show flow smoothly, or for someone that can hold and entertain the audience and weave magic into the compere role, I can satisfy your requirements with wide experience in this field.
Private Events
Whether it's a wedding, birthday or anniversary celebration, private party, office function or other event, close-up or cabaret magic is the versatile for entertainment. It's close to your audience, it gets them involved and it's guaranteed to make your event that extra special and memorable.
